There have been a couples time when I mentioned on my instagram that I need to practice slow living more often. That means unplugging from distractions and living in the moment. Often times, it’s so easy to have things disrupt what I’m doing and it makes me lose my train of thought. However, I’m trying really hard to slow down and soak in the moment.
As a blogger, it so hard to disconnect sometimes. My job is to be connected and share my everyday moments. When I don’t post on IG daily, I have noticed that I tend to lose followers. I try to plan my posts in advance but it doesn’t always happen, especially on weekends when I’m out and about. I’ve talked to another blogger about this and she told me that you shouldn’t have to always worry about your numbers because people who truly understand you will continue to support your work. You know what? She’s absolute right! Being a blogger means sharing my life with others, but it also means I have full control of what I want to share and how often I do so.
Becoming a mom has also taught me to highly prioritize slow living. Gabriel is growing up before my very eyes and time is flying by way too fast! I have to admit that I am one of those moms that has a gazillion photos and videos of my kid on my phone. Sometimes I have to remind myself that I just have to put my phone down and take in these precious moments. After all, he’s not going to be small forever!
How do you practice slow living? Do you ever feel the need to unplug so you’re able to enjoy life more? I’d love to hear any thoughts or tips!
