My Quick 5 Minute Makeup Routine

As a busy mom to an energetic toddler, looking glam everyday is definitely not a priority. Time is precious when you have kids and when you’re a mom, it’s important to master the art of multi-tasking and getting things done quickly. I’ve always been quick when it comes to getting ready, but now I feel like I’ve mastered it down even more. Keep reading if you want to learn more about my 5 minute makeup routine!

This Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer is one of my all time favorites when I don’t have time for a full makeup look. It balances my combination/oily skin and gives me a natural glow that doesn’t make my face look greasy. I dab some of the moisturizer on my cheeks, chin, nose, and forehead and blend it together with my fingers. Just a little bit of moisturizer covers my entire face so the tube definitely lasts a long time.

Speaking of glow, I like to add a touch of color to my cheeks just to add some dimension. This Revlon highlight palette in Rose Glow consists of strips of rosy and bronze shades to create a natural sunkissed look. You can blend all of the colors together and use it as a highlighter, or use individual strips as a blush and bronzer. I like to apply the bronze shades to my eyelids and use it as an eye shadow too.

If you’ve been following my blog for a while, then you’re probably tired of me talking about my favorite drugstore mascara. LOL! I’ll say it again: The L’Oreal Voluminous Waterproof Mascara in carbon black is the best mascara you can get and you can’t beat the price! It provides phenomenal volume and length. I find that most mascaras provides either one or the other but this one definitely provides both! Make sure you get it in carbon black for buildable volume. Today I decided to go for a more natural look and only applied one coat. 🙂

I don’t know about you but I feel like eye brows (or lack of) can really have an impact on your entire look. I can’t walk out the door without filling in my brows because unfortunately I am one of those people that lacks beautiful brows. That’s why I always use my Rimmel London brow pencil to fill them in. The shape of your brows really helps frame your face. It also comes with a brush, which makes it easier to blend.

Last but not least, my makeup routine would not be complete without a pretty lip color! Maybelline Color Sensational lipsticks are so moisturizing. My favorite shade is Touch of Spice because it’s a nice mauve shade that’s not too bold and looks perfect all year round.

This is my complete 5 minute makeup routine! Like I said, it’s not too glam but it’s just enough to give me a quick fresh look. (Sorry for my awkward blank stare! I need to work on taking better close up shots! lol) Do you always like to go for a full makeup look or are there certain products that you use when you’re in a hurry? Please share because I’d love to know! 🙂

Wow I love how you have a 5 minute make up routine established! I can totally relate to this post because my everyday office make up routine is only around 10 min as well. I do mascara, brows, foundation and sometimes some bronzer. But on the weekends or photo shoots, I definitely spend more time on my routine. Thanks for sharing Polly!

I definitely spend more time getting ready when I go out or get ready for photo shoots too. However, it’s a different story when I’m running errands with my son! lol. Thank you for visiting, Emma!

I’ve noticed that my best mascaras are all drug store brands! I’ll check out L’Oreal after I finish this tube of Cover Girl :). Thanks!
