Bell Sleeves in British Columbia

If you follow me on Instagram, then you may have noticed that I posted a few photos from my trip to Vancouver, British Columbia a couple weeks ago. I also wrote a post recapping my trip here that you can check out if you haven’t already.

It was hard for me to plan my outfits since it was rainy one day and then bright and sunny the next. I decided to wear this top with flare bell sleeves on this particular day since it happened to be sunny. The 70’s are back and bell sleeves are now everywhere! I must admit that I don’t always follow trends but what I really like about bell sleeves is that they are so fun and playful, yet feminine at the same time.

Since this top is loose fitting, I decided to pair it with skinny jeans instead of loose bottoms that would make my petite stature look even shorter. For reference, I am only 5’1″ so it’s important for me to dress appropriately for my height and wear clothing that will create an illusion to help make me look slightly taller. 😉

Although I think bell sleeves are very pretty there is one down side to wearing them. You have to be extra cautious when you’re eating! I happened to be wearing this top while I was eating a noodle soup and I had to be very careful so I wouldn’t dip my sleeves into my soup by accident! Apparently, I wasn’t the only one with this problem because I spotted another girl wearing bell sleeves and she made a similar comment about her sleeves too. lol

What do you think about bell sleeves? Do you normally follow trends or do you try to create your own?

I love bell sleeves! They can really make an outfit that much more elegant. As far as trends go, I definitely try not to follow them and just do my own thing. I think it’s a lot more fun that way.
